The Carmel Mountains
are 23 km long and about 9 km wide. It rises up to 546 m along the Mediterranean coast. The lush vegetation can be admired on the plenty hiking trails that Mount Carmel National Park has to offer. From simple to challenging tours with climbing elements… there is something for everyone. The hiking trails are particularly recommendable in the spring and autumn, as it becomes too hot in the summer especially in the canyons. Also during these tours, it is important to have sufficient water. Especially on weekends, many Israelis travel to the Carmel Mountains in order to barbeque. Routes with GPS data are available on various portals and hiking maps in the National Park Administration.
