Iran arms itself – Israel warns of new escalation
Despite US President Donald Trump’s claim that he has “wiped out” Iran’s nuclear program, there is growing concern in Jerusalem and among Western intelligence agencies that Tehran has largely preserved its military capabilities.
According to Israeli and European security sources, Iran is working around the clock to restore its missile production.
Factories in Isfahan and Bandar Abbas are reportedly active “24 hours a day”. The government is apparently preparing to fire thousands of rockets simultaneously at Israel in the next war in order to overload its defense systems.
At the same time, Israeli intelligence services suspect that large quantities of enriched uranium have been secretly relocated to a new underground site codenamed “Pickaxe Mountain”. Officially, Iran continues to deny international inspectors access.
IAEA Director Rafael Grossi recently confirmed that Iran has around 400 kilograms of uranium with an enrichment of 60 percent – a dangerously high value close to weapons grade.
In Jerusalem, there is now open talk of an “unfinished task”. If Iran continues to arm itself, a new military strike by Israel is increasingly likely. A senior security official said: “The next round is not a question of if, but when.”
