What do we take away from the crisis? What do we learn from it?

As we mentioned in our YouTube video, sooner or later the coronavirus era will come to an end, and five or ten years down the line we will look back and ask ourselves: “What have we learned from this? Or what do we remember most?” Benjamin and I decided right at the beginning that we wanted to learn and grow during this time in order to set a positive example for our children.
We have decided to concentrate on the essentials. What does that mean? First and foremost is our faith. Our faith in Jesus, our Savior, is what has given us strength and peace and continues to do so now. We know that God loves us and is always by our side. We can and should come to him with all our thoughts, fears and feelings and he gives us the support we need so much, especially in a difficult time like now.
Then came the curfew, when only a few stores were open and we thought it was safer to buy enough groceries to last us a week, and if something was missing, we did without it. And it was precisely this decision – to consciously do without – that was incredibly easy for us. During this time, we realized what we didn’t need and didn’t have to have in the future. We had a lot of fun consciously taking time for ourselves, for our children. We particularly enjoy involving the kids in our activities and organizing each day differently.
The time when schools are closed and we only have half as much work is a great gift. We have time: time for God, time for us, time for the children – time for LIFE – we have learned to love it again.
One of the many things we have done together is to EAT! Sounds obvious, doesn’t it? No, planning food again, preparing it and enjoying it together as a family, and doing it consciously. Let’s be honest. Sitting together at the table and eating a delicious meal is much more fun.

Among the many new things we have discovered for ourselves, there is one that we all particularly like and, above all, enjoy. It’s the sac (pronounced sadg). A kind of large metal bowl that you place over wood or hot coal. This bowl offers great possibilities.
We are thrilled! Our recipe book has been enriched with lots of delicious treats.
Our favorites are: Pitas and pizza.(Original Israeli pita recipe)
Guys, this is soooo good! You have to try it!
I don’t know how long this crisis will last and what the time afterwards will look like. However, I know that God loves us so that we make the best of this time of crisis.
We hug you and send you relaxed greetings from Israel
